About Us! Maybe I Should Say, About ME!!

  I have recently graduated from Auburn University with my bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education. I am currently teaching advanced math at a Memphis City School. I am also working on my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Secondary Mathematics.

Technology has always been one of my favorite topics. In my classroom, I have integrated technology in many of my lessons. I use graphing calculators in my classes all the time. Students like to be able to look at a graph and interpret the graph using the calculator. I have also used the TI Navigator. This is a great tool that allows all your students to answer your questions with a push of a button on their calculators. Then all their answers are grouped and graded on the big screen. I have found this tool to be very useful in terms of quickly assessing my students' understanding.

Students also love and enjoy using technology. Lessons that are enhanced by any kind of technology are my most successful lessons, because technology keeps students interested and engaged. The world wide web also contains a tremendous amount of interactive applets that allow the students to interact with the computer to learn a concept or solve a problem. I have also used a variety of learning videos online as an alternative to traditional lecturing.

With this website I hope to help many of the Algebra1 Students who are strugling through the course and are very confused about some basic algebra concepts. I have tried my best to integrade technology in all my pages to help students reach their maximum learning potential.
